This Black Bottom Cupcakes Recipe is pretty close to my heart
It annoys me whenever I have to be MIA from the blog for a long period of time, but I’ve been getting attacked by these headaches lately that I think is caused by tired eyes. That means less time on the computer, but I’ve been working on the blog behind the scenes. Even though I actually feel iffy about not posting anything since early last week, I just wasn’t feeling up for it. Until yesterday. I baked one of my favourite pick me up’s yesterday morning and I thought it would be nice to pop in real quick and talk about it today. You know what Maria always says in…

This ice cream is so decadent it should be illegal
Sometimes ideas start out just like that– ideas. It isn’t until you act on it and find a way to execute it that it becomes a reality. Cravings are the same way. They bloom in your mind and don’t go away for a fair amount of time until you acknowledge them. But unlike cravings, ideas can slip through the cracks if left unattended, never to be seen or conjured again. These brownies have changed the way I feel about brownies
Happy new year, everyone! How fast did 2014 zoom past?! I actually feel a bit like I accomplished nothing the past year because of the way I constantly lost track of time. I have a lot of high hopes for this year though, mostly in the way of personal productivity and improvement. And not to get all superstitious on you or anything, but they say the way you start the year is the mood you will set for the rest of it. And if any of that is true then I’m starting this year with a bang. I’ve said before that I’m not exactly the biggest brownie fiend, but I…

My first candied bacon creation: Candied Bacon Ice Cream
I find this whole candied bacon phenomenon quite fascinating. I think it’s rather nice that people are beginning to become more playful with their palate, opting for combinations of flavours instead of just straight sweet, or straight salty or spicy or sour. Sometimes it really pays to be a bit more adventurous with the food you eat, and it doesn’t even have to be as extreme as eating fried bugs or any of those “exotic” stuff. My satisfaction in making things like these comes in the form of being able to introduce them to my family, my parents especially, to help broaden their views on how food is changing these…

My first ever deeply dark Flourless Chocolate Cake
As the Lenten Season comes to a close once again, I thought I would sneak in one more recipe that I feel can be welcome addition to any Easter spread. Lent is the most important time for us Catholics to recognise the sacrifices made by Jesus on the cross and I think this can be done in the simplest manner by appreciating every little blessing we have, including the food that gets put on our tables. I’m not making hot cross anything this year because that’s all I seem to make for Easter the past few years, so I thought I’d make something different this time. I’ve been seeing a lot…
